Athletic Program

In keeping with our philosophy of teaching the “whole child”, physical education and an interscholastic athletic program are vital to our mission of preparing students for a healthy, happy life both while they are in school and beyond.

Field Hockey

Physical Education provides opportunities for children to explore their physical capabilities while learning the importance of fitness in everyday life. Our after-school athletic programs take those lessons to the next level by teaching students the meaning of teamwork, cooperation, leadership and commitment. Students are guided toward developing a healthy competitive attitude, where they can actively and energetically engage, where wins are a shared celebration and losses are opportunities for learning.

Sports currently offered at Buckingham Friends School include Field hockey (Fall), Soccer (Fall); Boys and Girls Basketball (Winter); Softball (Co-ed, Spring), Lacrosse (Girls, Spring). Each upper school student must participate in one after-school sport each year.

Through this participation, we believe that students learn many physical skills and intangible lessons that will prove valuable in their lives as possible future athletes and/or leaders in society.
