BFS Community
Buckingham Friends School is the past, and growing up, and hope, and new worlds, and peacefulness and love, but most of all Buckingham Friends School is family.
– Sarah Robinson '94
An important part of Buckingham Friends School's mission is creating a sense of spiritual community that unites students, families, alumni, faculty, staff, the school board and members of local Quaker meetings. The bond is much like an extended family, providing the intellectual, emotional, physical and financial support that keeps Buckingham Friends School, and everyone involved, healthy, connected and growing.
All members of the school community actively pitch in to help, whether assisting in the classroom, volunteering on a committee, raking leaves, or lending professional or technical expertise. Faculty, staff and parents work together to improve the school through the efforts of PTAC (Parent-Teacher-Administration Committee). The community also supports the financial operation of the school through regular contributions to the annual and endowment funds.
Alums and families remain involved with school activities long beyond their graduation dates. In person and in spirit, they are always a part of the BFS community.
