A coed Quaker school for grades K through 8

Welcome from the Head of School

Paul Lindenmaier, Head of SchoolWelcome to Buckingham Friends School!  I trust that our website will provide you with the information you seek about our school and the opportunities that await your children and your family here.  Founded in 1794, Buckingham Friends School is a co-educational Friends school for students in Kindergarten through eighth grade.  Our experienced and dedicated faculty offer exceptional and exciting academic, arts, and affective education programs.  Small class sizes ensure that students are actively engaged and assignments are rigorous and meaningful.  Students are valued as individuals and supported in developing a strong sense of self while learning to respect and show care and concern for others.

It is the mission of Buckingham Friends School to inspire and nurture the promise of each student so that they may best realize their personal potential for success and fulfillment.  We work to recognize and cultivate the individual qualities and spirit of each student while presenting them with a challenging educational framework that fosters community and the importance of service to others.  As a great Friends school, with clear values and a plan for our future, we provide students with an extraordinary educational environment for shaping character, promoting originality, and strengthening independence as each child progresses through the stages of growth and development from preschool through their graduating year.

Realizing academic excellence as a school necessitates a collective commitment to diversity that recognizes and embraces the richness in the identities, presence, ideas, and contributions of everyone. When each person can feel safe, be heard, and contribute meaningfully, they will meet with their optimum achievement in all areas.  Developing a student’s community and multicultural literacy supports them in being an engaged and compassionate classmate, community member, friend, and citizen.

Our 44-acre wooded campus, five buildings, four playing fields, hiking trails, and pond provide the resources of a larger school and support the quality and intimacy of experiences that define a Buckingham School education.  Extracurricular options are plentiful, nurturing talents and the importance of collaboration.  Parents deeply value and appreciate the strong bonds that they and their children form with teachers, and they comment regularly about the quality of outreach and support that they receive. The lines of communication are always open between home and school.

The best way to fully comprehend all that Buckingham Friends School has to offer is to visit.  I am confident that you will witness our mission in action and see a school that provides a stimulating and challenging education in a supportive and nurturing environment.  To learn more about Buckingham Friends School, please give us a call or use our inquiry form.

Paul Lindenmaier
