About Our School
Founded in 1794, Buckingham Friends School is a co-educational day school for students in Kindergarten through eighth grade, founded in the Quaker tradition. We are a close-knit community of dedicated faculty committed to providing a vigorous and engaging education, and active families who participate regularly in the life of the school. Together we bond like an extended family, providing the intellectual, social, emotional, and physical support that keeps the Buckingham Friends School community healthy, connected and growing. On our small, charming campus our students learn to care for themselves, take care of one another, value their community, enrich their environment, and appreciate their school, developing a life-long love of learning.
At Buckingham Friends School, children are allowed to be children while they develop the skills and attitudes they need to have an impact in today’s world. Inspired and guided by Quaker spiritual tradition, BFS students are encouraged to think deeply, reflect thoughtfully, resolve conflicts peacefully, and play exuberantly. As a result, they are known for their confidence, their self-possession, and their ability to articulate their thinking both orally and in writing. Our mission to inspire a “lifelong love of learning”, challenges us to reward curiosity, acknowledge effort, and promote individual interest.
