Current Openings

Director of Finance and Operations

Buckingham Friends School seeks a new Director of Finance and Operations beginning July 2020.  This full-time, 12-month senior administrative position reports directly to the Head of School.  Responsibilities include the following: supervise the work of the school accountant and business office; keep an accurate continuous record of the cash and financial position of the school and manage the financial operation of the school; establish a plan and schedule for the preparation of the annual budget; oversee all school purchasing, financial investments, banking activities, and payroll and benefits programs; and to provide staff support, in conjunction with the Head of School, to the Finance Committee and the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees. Oversee the facilities and physical plant; supervise the work of the facilities staff and outside contractors; coordinate rentals; and to provide staff support, in conjunction with the Head of School, to the Physical Plant Committee of the Board of Trustees. Full-Time Kindergarten Teacher

Buckingham Friends School seeks a new Full-Time Kindergarten Teacher beginning in September 2020.  This full-time, 10-month position, includes responsibility for the curriculum and teaching all aspects of the Kindergarten program to 16-18 students; working closely with and maintaining positive and effective relationships with a full-time assistant teacher, the reading specialist, and three other Lower School teachers; developing and implementing curricula in a variety of areas; partnering and communicating regularly and effectively with parents; writing progress reports and maintaining student records; advancing the School’s mission as a Friends school, aligning with the School’s core values and philosophy, and actively supporting the School’s strategic plan; and assisting with admissions.  The successful candidate will have experience teaching at the early childhood and/or lower school levels, a background in curriculum development, and a demonstrated track record of contributing to their former school(s) and their future vision, community, and culture.  Experience preferred.  Interested candidates should email a cover letter, resume, and list of five references to Paul Lindenmaier, Head of School, at plindenmaier@bfs.org 

 

After School Program Assistant

Buckingham Friends School seeks to fill a part-time position for the After School Program. Primary responsibilities for this hourly position include: overseeing and engaging in free play with a varying number of children in grades K-8, preparing and serving snacks to the children at the After School Program, recording attendance and walking children to and from After School Clubs. Candidates need to be comfortable being outside in all types of weather (cold, snow, rain, etc.) and will need to be available to be at the After School Program from 3-6 pm. We are currently looking for someone for Mondays and Tuesdays with the opportunity for more days as needed.
