  3. PLAY DATE / CLASSROOM VISIT: Upon receipt of your Application and the Teacher Recommendation Form, we will contact you with information about your child’s PlayDate (Kindergarten) or Classroom Visit (First Grade). Kindergarten applicants meet in a play group and receive tasks that allow us to assess their developmental readiness for the challenge of full-day kindergarten.  (For more information about Developmental Readiness, please click here to visit our web page Is My Child Ready for Kindergarten?) First grade applicants spend time in the classroom and receive tasks that allow us to assess their preparedness to navigate the social and academic challenges of first grade.
  4. PARENT INTERVIEW: Both parents participate in the 45 minute Parent Interview which is scheduled shortly after your child’s PlayDate/Visit. This is your opportunity to brag about your child, alert us to concerns, and clarify final questions about our school and programs.
  5. ROLLING ADMISSIONS: Both Kindergarten and First Grade applicants are admitted on a rolling basis, meaning you will learn within a few weeks about the admission decision for the coming year.  Should your child not be ready for our program, we will communicate with you privately and honestly, and help you understand your options and our recommendations on your child’s behalf.  Students who are Accepted to the school receive a Letter of Acceptance and an Enrollment Agreement.  Parents are encouraged to sign and return the Agreement along with the $1000 Enrollment Deposit as soon as possible within the two-week deadline, in order to secure your child’s space in the class.  After two weeks have passed, unreserved spaces will be made available to other families waiting in queue for admission.
