Lower School Kindness

Admissions Welcome

Welcome to Buckingham Friends School!

I am delighted that you are curious to learn more about our wonderful school community.  Founded in 1794, BFS is a co-educational, independent K-8 school committed to its mission of honoring the Light and unique promise within each person.  At BFS we foster originality, honor and encourage each voice, and recognize that the development of an authentic, confident self provides the foundation for realizing personal fulfillment and success as a learner.

We utilize our 44-acre, wooded campus to support our engaging and vigorous curriculum, which promotes academic achievement within an environment of experiential learning. We value and inspire curiosity, creativity, critical and analytical thinking, communication skills, and collaboration among all of our students. Guided by the principles of friendship, we educate young citizens and awaken a strong local and global consciousness with a commitment to peace.

At Buckingham Friends School, community is at the core of all we do. Our talented and dedicated faculty work in partnership with families to cultivate a joyful, involved, and inclusive community devoted to kindness, respect, and establishing trust and accountability.  Together, we invest in the success and well-being of each child, family, and one another.

The best way to get to know BFS is to visit.  I would love to share this special school with you.  Please call 215-794-7491 or email me at [email protected] to schedule a tour of campus so you can experience firsthand what BFS is all about and the value of what BFS will offer your child(ren).

I look forward to getting to know you and learning about your hopes and dreams for your child(ren).
