7th Grade Science Year-Long Pond Study
In late January, on a snowy day, the 7th grade students spent their science class down at the pond, which is located on the property of a neighbor of the school. This visit to the pond was part of a year-long study of a pond ecosystem that science teacher, Steve Bernardini has been leading his 7th grade students through for many years. In the fall, the students had placed wooden “habitats” tied to a rope in the water, which has and will allow them to return several times throughout the year to observe the organisms they find on the habitat. During this particular winter visit, a few students shot video and then edited it to give a window into this experiential learning.
