Congratulations to Class of 2018!
The Buckingham Friends School Community joyfully congratulates the Class of 2018. Thirteen students graduated from the School on June 7, 2018, in a ceremony held in the historic Buckingham Friends Meetinghouse on a beautiful evening. Held in the context of Meeting for Worship, the graduation was a true celebration of the class, featuring song performances, reading of class histories, an address from BFS Upper School English teacher Kara Shaw, and individual comments to each graduate from Interim Head of School Rusty MacMullan before he presented them with their diplomas. The recent graduates will continue their educational paths at the following independent schools: George School, Germantown Academy, LaSalle College High School, and The Pennington School.
“To use the words that we know so well from the great Robert Frost… right now, in this moment, sitting before us all, you are the gold. You have reached the pinnacle of your time here at BFS and you possess everything that is golden. Pride, humility, resolve, determination, tolerance, and fortitude. Tonight, you are the gold standard. You are my gold standard. Revel in this moment and absorb this feeling.” -Quote from Kara Shaw, Graduation Speaker
