Instruction in Physical Education focuses on skills development, cooperation, and fitness that keep the body healthy, safe and fit. All students in Kindergarten through eighth grade attend regular Physical Education classes. Additionally, students in seventh and grade are offered elective courses that include topics such as yoga and dance. The Physical Education program engages students through games, outdoor adventures, and cooperative activities. Respecting others and caring for oneself through joyful, organized play is emphasized throughout the K-8 program. Students in grades 6-8 are required to participate on one sports team per year as part of the extra-curricular athletic program. Students in 5th grade are often invited to participate on teams when space allows. Sports offerings include: Soccer and Girls Field Hockey (Fall), Basketball (Winter), Softball and Girls Lacrosse (Spring).
