Student Life at Our Quaker Friends School
Children at Buckingham Friends School are at the center of everything we do. Working together as a community of teachers, administrators, parents and students we seek to provide the broadest array of experiences – in and outside of the classroom – to foster each child’s intellectual, social and emotional growth.
BFS is a wonderful place to allow children to be individuals and learn in a loving environment. To have the confidence and values of how to treat others at such a young age will help these children survive the pressure in our hard world and and guide them to be leaders for a better tomorrow.
We are proud of our diverse, challenging, progressive and time-tested programs that nurture the specific learning styles of each child and inspire them to excel. Our small classes foster a unique relationship between teacher and child. We have high standards and expect great things of our students, and we are here to help them find their own personal road to success. We also treasure the special joys of childhood and preserve a healthy balance of daily work and play, allowing children to be children while they learn and grow.
We have many long-standing cultural traditions that are viewed as a rite of passage and are eagerly anticipated as a child moves through the grades from Kindergarten through graduation. These traditions form the collective memories and continuity that carry from one generation to the next – from our oldest alumnus to our newest applicant.
Ultimately, our graduates leave here as self-confident, thoughtful, collaborative, unique, life-long learners who have a strong sense of self, community, civic responsibility and environmental stewardship.
