Technology in Education
Buckingham Friends School faculty believe that technology is a tool, when used effectively, enhances instruction and enriches student learning. Technology is not a separate course of instruction; rather it is woven across content into the academic program in core subjects, as well as the arts. All Upper School students and faculty use laptop computers as part of our 1-1 program. Additionally, students in Lower School use iPads, while Middle School students use Chromebooks for classroom instruction. Most classrooms are equipped with presentation tools including interactive whiteboards and projectors, and these are available for all to use. A technology support technician is available throughout the year and an ongoing program of staff development is provided and constantly evolving. Presentations on Internet safety and acceptable use are routinely offered in the Fall of each year to both parents and students.
