Summer Camps at Buckingham Friends School
During the Summer of 2018, BFS will be hosting the following camps:
Summer Thrills Camp
Jean Partridge, Kindergarten teacher at BFS, and Sydney Fox, Woodshop and Mindfulness teacher at BFS, will be running a hands-on art, woodworking, yoga and science exploration camp. Highlights will include fun with problem solving and invention, group games, and strategy challenges. Plenty of both indoor and outdoor play. Children will take home projects at the close of each session.
June 18 – 22 Hours: 9 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.One-week sessions will run:
June 25 – 29 Hours: 9 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
(Different activites will be offered each of the sessions so children may sign up for one or both sessions)
For children ages 5 through 10.
Space is limited to twenty children per session.
BFS STEM Camp
Buckingham Friends School’s STEM Camp is a fun and challenging half-day camp for budding engineers entering grades 3-6. Guided by experienced and passionate teachers, campers will engage in hands-on activities and discover how Science, Technology, Engineering and Math intersect. Two different one-week sessions:
July 9 - 13 - Energize: Chemical Energy
The energy that’s created or released in a chemical reaction — is all around us. In this session, campers will be introduced to the concept of chemical energy, and learn about the energy released or consumed during chemical reaction experiments.
July 16 - 20 - Whirlwind
What can you hear and feel as it moves, but only see when it’s cold? The Wind! The wind is a very powerful and unlimited renewable energy source with power to both create and destroy! Campers will design a windmill, build an anemometer, design a wind turbine, and design a wind-powered car.
Hours: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (Half-day)
For children entering Grades 3 through 6.

A deposit of $100 is required at the time of registration. Checks should be made out to BFS -please annotate the specific session in the memo line. If you choose, you may also pay the full camp fee at time of registration. All payments should be mailed to the BFS Business Office care of: PO Box 159, Lahaska, PA. 18931. Final payment is due by May 31st, 2018.
If you are registering more than one child for a camp, you will need to complete the form separately for each child.
