Buckingham Friends School seeks a new full-time kindergarten teacher to start September 2024. This position includes responsibility for the curriculum and teaching of the kindergarten class; working closely with and maintaining positive and effective relationships with the kindergarten assistant teacher, reading specialist, and other Lower School teachers; developing and implementing curriculum aligned to national standards; partnering and communicating regularly and effectively with parents; writing progress reports and maintaining student records; advancing the School’s mission as a Friends school, aligning with the School’s core values and philosophy, actively supporting the School’s strategic plan; and assisting with admissions. The successful candidate will have experience teaching at the kindergarten level, the ability to differentiate instruction, and a demonstrated track record of contributing to their former school(s) and their future vision, community, and culture. A Bachelor’s Degree in education and elementary teaching experience preferred. Buckingham Friends School seeks a new part-time K-3rd grade French teacher to start September 2024. This position includes responsibility for the curriculum and teaching of the kindergarten through 3rd grade French classes; working closely with and maintaining positive and effective relationships with the other world language and specials teachers; developing and implementing curriculum aligned to national standards; partnering and communicating regularly and effectively with parents; writing progress reports and maintaining student records; advancing the School’s mission as a Friends school, aligning with the School’s core values and philosophy, actively supporting the School’s strategic plan; and assisting with admissions. The successful candidate will have experience teaching French at the elementary level, the ability to differentiate instruction, and a demonstrated track record of contributing to their former school(s) and their future vision, community, and culture. A Bachelor’s Degree in education and French teaching experience preferred. Buckingham Friends School seeks a one-year maternity substitute social studies teacher for 6th, 7th, and 8th grades, beginning in September 2024. This position includes responsibility for the curriculum and teaching all of the 6th-8th grade social studies classes; working closely with and maintaining positive and effective relationships with the other Upper School teachers, implementing curriculum aligned to national standards and that follows the BFS Social Studies Scope and Sequence; partnering and communicating regularly and effectively with parents/guardians; writing progress reports and maintaining student records; advancing the School’s mission as a Friends school, aligning with the School’s core values and philosophy, and actively supporting the School’s strategic plan; and assisting with admissions. The successful candidate will have experience teaching at the middle school level, a background in history/civics education and curriculum development, a deep commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Justice, & Belonging practices, and a demonstrated track record of contributing to their former school(s) and their future vision, community, and culture. Buckingham Friends School seeks a playful, energetic, and attentive individual to assist with our After School Program. Interested candidates should enjoy engaging with children of varying ages in an unstructured/free-play environment within our beautiful wooded campus. The individual must be available for the After School Program from 2:45-6pm. The position starts this fall on most weekday afternoons.

P/T After School Assistant Responsibilities include:

  • Gather and walk Lower School students to the after school building
  • Prepare and serve snacks
  • Engage with and monitor students inside and outside
  • Take attendance and record when students are picked up
  • Clean up after school building and exterior playground area at the end of each day
  • Get students to and from Clubs when needed
  • Occasionally write an incident report (if they were the one who witnessed the incident)
