BFS Students in Action!

BFS students shined at this year’s Peace Fair held on Saturday, September 30, on the campus of Buckingham Friends School. The Peace Fair is an annual community gathering hosted by Buckingham Meeting that promotes peace and kindness. One of the many tables at the Peace Fair this year was a group of BFS Upper School students raising funds to support the country of Morocco after the devastating earthquake last month. The students are partnering with the World Leadership Foundation, an organization providing aid directly to the Tizi Zougaght community, and Amal, a Marrakesh-based non-profit community working with World Central Kitchen to provide meals to displaced Moroccans. The table featured a variety of homemade Moroccan desserts and handmade Moroccan-themed crafts. With the generous support of our extended community, they raised over $1,200. Our students were ready with facts and information about Morocco and were excited to work together to make this effort successful.

Also featured at this year’s Peace Fair were over 50 BFS student ambassadors from grades 3 through 8, assisting vendors and fairgoers to ensure the fair ran smoothly for everyone.

It was a great day to watch our BFS students in action!
