Celebrating the Performing Arts at BFS: A Season of Student Creativity and Expression

Each year, Buckingham Friends School students take center stage in a lineup of winter and spring performances that showcase creativity, collaboration, and growing confidence across every grade.

Kindergarten captivated audiences with The Fairy Tale Network, featuring playful retellings of classic tales.

First Grade followed with an original play, as a missing soccer ball sparked a magical, fast-paced quest led by an imaginative cast of characters.

Second Grade brought stories to life through a series of Magic Tree House mini-plays, weaving themes of kindness, courage, and perseverance.

Third Grade took audiences down the yellow brick road with a spirited performance of The Wizard of Oz, filled with heart, humor, and memorable moments.

Fifth Grade showcased a different kind of performance at the American History Fair, where students shared confident presentations and in-depth research that highlighted both knowledge and poise.

Sixth Grade presented The Princess and the Peas, a whimsical, student-written “play within a play” that offered a creative twist on a familiar tale.

Seventh Grade kept audiences engaged with twelve original sketch comedies, each showcasing sharp wit, strong timing, and a wide range of comedic styles that highlighted the students’ creativity and confidence on stage.

Eighth Grade closed the season with two vibrant performances of The Lion King JR., transforming the theater into the Pride Lands through student-led work on costumes, sets, and staging. The production served as a fitting and spirited finale to their time at BFS.

Across every grade, students and teachers worked together to create performances that entertained and inspired, making this year’s spring productions a true celebration of the arts at Buckingham Friends School.
