Buckingham Friends School marked its 231st Graduation on Thursday, June 4, with a ceremony that was both simple and deeply personal—true to the school’s traditions. It was held in the Buckingham Friends Meetinghouse on campus.
During the ceremony, the graduates shared individual reflections on their time at BFS; some spoke with humor, and all with confidence. Their reflections were a glimpse into the experiences that shaped their years here—classroom moments, friendships, challenges, and growth. They also sang meaningful songs throughout the graduation ceremony. Stephanie Thliveris, who serves as the Eighth Grade Co-Advisor, Science Teacher, and Eighth Grade Mindfulness Teacher, was the guest speaker selected by the Class of 2026.
Each graduate was also recognized individually by a faculty member, who shared insights into not only the students’ accomplishments but also the distinct qualities each brought to the BFS community as learners and as people.
The ceremony honored a long-standing tradition while remaining focused on what matters most: the students themselves. As the graduates leave BFS, they do so with a strong sense of self and connection to the community they’ve been part of.
The Class of 2026 will continue their education at schools near and far, including George School, The Lawrenceville School, The Peddie School, The Putney School (VT), Solebury School, Westtown School, CB East, and CB West.
Best wishes to the Class of 2026! You’ll be missed!
