After School Assistant
French Teacher
- Classroom experience working with middle school students
- The ability to motivate, support, and challenge students in a student-centered community
- Experience with curriculum development that supports the development of French speaking, reading, and writing skills
- A demonstrated track record of contributing to their former school(s)’ culture
- A strong commitment to issues of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Justice, and Belonging (DEIJB)
- A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in French or education; teaching certification in a foreign language is a plus.
Part-Time Math Teacher
Buckingham Friends School seeks a new part-time math teacher beginning in late August, 2023. This part-time 10-month position includes responsibility for the curriculum and teaching of one section of regular math to 6th and 7th Grade students; working closely with and maintaining positive and effective relationships with the other Upper School math teacher, and other Upper School teachers; developing and implementing curricula aligned to national standards; partnering and communicating regularly and effectively with parents; writing progress reports and maintaining student records; advancing the School’s mission as a Friends school, aligning with the School’s core values and philosophy, actively supporting the School’s strategic plan; and assisting with admissions. The successful candidate will have experience teaching at the middle school level, a background in mathematics education and curriculum development, the ability to differentiate instruction, and a demonstrated track record of contributing to their former school(s) and their future vision, community, and culture. A Bachelor’s Degree in education or mathematics and Middle School teaching experience preferred. The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Prior experience teaching physical education to students from kindergarten to 8th grade
- Knowledge of sports and basic health and nutrition
- Strong communication and organization skills with the ability to motivate, support, and challenge students in a student-centered community
- Experience with curriculum development
- A demonstrated track record of contributing to their former school(s)’ culture
- A strong commitment to issues of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Justice, and Belonging (DEIJB)
- A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in education, with a specialization in either health sciences, physical education, or kinesiology
