Our Campus

BFS Campus - Upper Lawn

Buckingham Friends School is located in the heart of beautiful central Bucks County, at the intersection of Routes 202 and 263 in Lahaska, Pennsylvania. The campus is shared with Buckingham Monthly Meeting of Friends.

Our distinctive 44-acre campus is an expansive and inspiring setting for learning and play of all sorts, at all grade levels. Approximately 30 acres of the site are wooded, with a series of marked trails, and the terrain slopes down to a pond and freshwater streams. Our students spend time outside every day—socializing at recess, taking physical education classes, engaging in experiential learningand much more.

In keeping with our value of being stewards of our world, they also take an active role in caring for their campus. The Stewardship Committee, composed of students in grades three through eight, organizes campus recycling and clean up efforts throughout the year.

A Campus Transformed

In the fall 2025, BFS announced the completion of a historic, multi-year transformation of its campus. The three-year project reimagines twelve essential academic, arts, and community spaces without drawing from tuition or operating funds, and strengthens teaching and learning across all grade levels while honoring the natural, bucolic character that has defined BFS for generations.

BFS’s campus transformation includes renovated classrooms and shared learning spaces; a state-of-the-art Science Building; an Arts Center featuring a Music Studio, Art Studio, Woodshop, and Theater; a new gymnasium; a bus canopy; a Community Connector and Servery; and new playgrounds for the Lower and Middle/Upper Schools.

BFS’s bucolic 44-acre campus is a true extension of the classroom, offering exceptional space for outdoor learning, scientific investigation, and experiential study across disciplines. With the arrival of spring, learning moves naturally outdoors — students conduct science experiments in surrounding habitats, use the woods and pond as backdrops for literary discussion, sketch by the creek during Art, and practice mindfulness on our outdoor platform. This immersive environment fosters inquiry, critical thinking, and interdisciplinary exploration, strengthening and enriching the academic program. #PositivelyBFS
