My name is Elena Harris and I am a parent of a current 8th grader Buckingham Friends School and I've also had the blessing to have two children attend Buckingham Friends School before my current 8th grader and I wanted to speak to you about what has happened Buckingham Friends School Community during this year of so much uncertainty and a difficulty for so many people. The first phrase that comes to mind is when the going gets tough, the tough get going and Buckingham Friends School has truly risen to the occasion in only a way that this community can. We have hunker down we've come together and through thoughtful reflection and dedicated commitment by the faculty and staff everyone has channeled all of their energy, their resources, their wisdom into ensuring that every student can come to campus each and every day to be able to be inspired and thoughtfully encouraged by the faculty, their teachers, that they meet in the classroom. And those students that weren't able to come physically back to campus during some point during this time they've been able to still have the same access to the teachers that the physical physically present students have. So many times I've heard students and parents who have had to be virtual say that they are amazed and astounded by how the faculty and the administration have committed to making sure that those students having to learn at home have felt no different than the students that have been physically present in the classroom. Their needs have been met, their questions have been answered and those students who have been virtual have been just as much a part of that dynamic classroom as the students that have been sitting in that classroom and that's truly a testament to the commitment in the dedication of those teachers. The passion and that energy to make sure that they meet every student exactly where they are. That no student is meant to fit in any mold, but that they need to come and meet that student where they are so that the best can come out of that student, that the Light can shine within every student and truly as always the Buckingham Friends School community that root and that foundation are those teachers and that has not changed. Amazingly enough there's such a difficult time for so many people through time when so much uncertainty has taken place when so many parents don't have the ability in the blessing to say that they can send their child to school or even say that they can trust sending their child to school. If nothing else I've trusted it's been very easy to trust sending my daughter to school everyday. I've dropped her off and have not look back, because I know that the care that she is in, she is loved by her teachers just as if I were with her loving her. They know her better than anyone else outside of our family could know her and that's been such a testament and it's been a blessing. The sense of community has been strongest through this time, they've had to come together and believe it or not it's been so strong. They met what they've had to do and as a Parent Community we are so very very grateful. So on behalf of Buckingham Friends School we hope to hear from you very, very soon to let us know how you and your family are doing. We wish you well. Stay well, be well, and know that Buckingham Friends School carries you in their heart each and every day.
